Owner of Uncle Ed’s Specialty Meats has died

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — The owner of Uncle Ed’s Specialty Meats has died.

Uncle Ed’s Specialty Meats announced on social media on Thursday Ed Munce died. Ed started Uncle Ed’s Specialty Meats in 2001 alongside his son, Matt.

“For the past 25 years, I has the incredible privilege of working side by side with my best friend, my mentor and my hero every single day,” stated in a social media post. “Everything this business stands for – hard work, honesty, quality, treating people like family, and doing things the right way – came from him.”

The popular business is located in eastern Sioux Falls near Arrowhead Parkway and Six Mile Road. It’s part of the Split Rock Township.
