BRANDON, S.D.—Spartan Emergency Response, a brand of Spartan Fire, LLC, and manufacturer of fire apparatus, announces that the Denver (CO) Fire Department has chosen Spartan Emergency Response and its authorized dealer, Mile-Hi Fire Apparatus, to provide the city with three new Spartan S-180 custom pumpers that will be delivered in 10 to 12 months.
The Denver Fire Department is adding the Spartan pumpers to update its fleet and to accommodate continued growth in the city. This marks the city’s first purchase of Spartan fire apparatus. Before the order was placed, the department’s mechanics and apparatus committee members tested a demo pumper and were impressed with its workmanship, the way it drove, and its similarity to apparatus in its current fleet.
The three S-180 custom pumpers will include:
- Spartan Metro Star chassis
- Cummins X12 450-hp engines
- Waterous CSU 2,000-gpm pumps
- 500-gallon water tanks
- Low hosebeds
- High side/low side storage
