Those who knew T. Denny Sanford best honored him for a “life of significance” at a community remembrance ceremony Saturday.
Sanford, the founder and chairman of First PREMIER Bank/PREMIER Bankcard and the most significant philanthropist in South Dakota history, died July 18 at age 90.
“Whenever somebody talked to Denny about a problem, a project, an opportunity, his first instinct was always to say, ‘How can I help?’” said Dave Knudson, counsel and special adviser to Sanford, who worked with him for 35 years.
