SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) —The Veterans Community Project has been a work in progress for years. KELOLAND News was at the ground breaking in 2022, and has continued to cover the project. Now, the homes are nearly finished.
“Fundraising started in the earlier years before that, but we truly hired our first staff, and started construction in 2022. So it’s been a long 4 to 5 years of construction and building,” Veterans Community Project Director of Development, Kaelyn Geifer said.
The finishing touches are taking place on the final 10 homes, increasing the total number in the village to 25. The 15 completed homes are already occupied, and the staff at the Veterans Community Project expects the others to fill up once they open…
