CANTON, S.D. (KELO) — Lincoln County in southeast South Dakota shares much more than a border with Minnehaha County; its sheriff’s deputies help protect the same community, with Sioux Falls stretching into each county. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is also mourning the loss of Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Deputy Katherine Frank, who lost her life in the line of duty after she was shot Friday.
Lincoln County Sheriff Steve Swenson’s office will help cover the Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office’s responsibilities so they can lay Frank to rest.
“Along with the South Dakota Highway Patrol and some other departments, just going to come together and make sure that the Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office can properly grieve and make sure that they, those that want to can attend the funeral,” Swenson said Thursday…
