ROCK RAPIDS—A Montana man has been sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to his involvement in a fiery crash in Lyon County two years ago.
The case against 35-year-old Lance Harvey Haugen of Glendive, MT, arose as he was driving north on Beech Avenue about 7 p.m. on Sept. 26, 2024, three miles west of Larchwood.
Haugen failed to stop at the stop sign at 140th Street, and his 2012 Ford Raptor pickup struck an eastbound 2021 Chevrolet Traverse being driven by 74-year-old Marvin Dale Winkel of George, according to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office…
