UNION COUNTY, S.D. (KCAU) — Some residents in some southeast South Dakota counties are currently unable to make 911 phone calls through landlines.
According to a Facebook post from the Union County South Dakota Sheriff’s Office , Lumen/CenturyLink is experiencing an outage to some of its circuits. Customers in Lincoln and Union counties, along with Miner and Minnehaha counties, are affected and cannot call 911 with a landline.

Other landline and hosted phone customers in South Dakota are not able to make or receive local phone calls to or from other Lumen/CenturyLink areas. Long-distance calls, however, will work.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office said that county residents who can’t call 911 should instead call their office admin line at 605-356-2679.
