Sioux Falls prepares to host Pheasant Fest and Quail Classic

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — The National Pheasant Fest & Quail Classic will make its long-awaited return to Sioux Falls in early March.

The Pheasant Fest & Quail Classic will make its first appearance in Sioux Falls since 2018, starting March 1st.

“It’s one month away and we literally have it marked by the day because of so much activity in preparing for them,” Experience Sioux Falls CEO Teri Schmidt said.

“What are you going to do in your hotel, and actually any business who might be listening, what are you doing to welcome these pheasant hunters to Sioux Falls, are you putting a little ‘welcome sign’ in your window?” Schmidt said.

And she plans to welcome a whole lot of people.

“Our goal this year is 30- to 33,000 people, and you might ask ‘why that’? We were at 28,800 last time, well, I want to beat out Minneapolis,” Schmidt said.
