“My office specifically, is kind of fed up with all the complaints,” said the Mayor.

The Mayor says Tzadik properties have generated so many complaints he felt he had to get involved.

“When you are a property owner, and you decide to invest in multi-family properties, especially workforce and lower-income properties, there is an expectation that comes with that,” said TenHaken.

Tzadik founder and CEO Adam Hendry says they are working with the city. We met with Hendry at his Woodlake Apartments at 49th Street and Louise Avenue.

“So we have over 2 thousand apartments, we have many thousands of residents, our working relationship with the city has been very good,” said Hendry. “The Mayor deeply cares about residents of Sioux Falls. We have the same goals in terms of providing safe and affordable housing.”
