“This is our Super Bowl of games, biggest game of the year,” Stampede President Jim Olander said.
Wiener Dog Night is something special for the Sioux Falls Stampede.
“Everything in the building will be Wiener Dogs, there will be no Stampede. Our score bugs have the Wiener Dog logo on it, we’re referred to as the Wiener Dogs throughout the course of the night,” Olander said.
The game will feature a wiener dog parade, races, and jersey and nameplate auctions , with proceeds benefiting Dakota Dachshund Rescue.
“They don’t have a big shelter, they purely use volunteers, it’s all volunteer-based, whether it’s foster homes or the people taking care of the dogs,” Olander said.
“All the dogs that come in have pre-surgical blood work, heartworm testing, rabies, distemper, bordetella, neuter, dental, anything else they need,” Dakota Dachshund Rescue Founder Diane Wade said.
