Man charged in chief deputy’s death indicted by grand jury

FLANDREAU, S.D. (KELO) — The Sioux Falls man accused of hitting and killing a Moody County Chief Deputy Sheriff a week ago was back in court Friday morning.

A grand jury has indicted 40-year-old Joseph Hoek on first degree murder and aggravated eluding charges. He’s accused of killing 51-year-old Ken Prorok during a chase Friday, February 2.
