Daycare kids bring Valentine’s surprise to assisted living center

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — The kids from the School of Early Childhood Education worked on their Valentine’s boxes for a couple of weeks. Today they got to show them off and put them to use.

“Happy Valentine’s Day,” said the kids.

Residents of the Hearthstone Assisted Living Center on the west side of Sioux Falls lined the hallway ready to give valentines and get valentines.

Claire and Paul Margerum say their grandkids are grown so being around these little ones brings back fun memories.

“The energy, the laughter, the noise there are just, each one is very unique, said Claire.
“You don’t get to see the young people, so it’s nice to see them come in; we appreciate that,” said Paul.

Paul says the kids bring a certain energy to the room. “Energy we don’t have, you don’t either,” he said laughing.

From ages 6 to 94: What is love?

Its a special Valentine’s for Paul and Claire as they celebrate 67 years of marriage. Having the kids come by for a visit is a bonus.
