Election day is here. The polls will open from 7 a.m. to 7p.m. local time. Be sure to give yourself some time to wait in line and to fill out the lengthy ballot.

Election Day: South Dakota polls open at 7 a.m.


Voters are able to view a sample ballot before they head to the polls. The sample ballot, along with an explanation of the seven ballot measures are available on keloland.com.

The City of Sioux Falls has recorded 13 homicides in 2024, a large increase from the two recorded in 2023. KELOLAND News reached out to SFPD public information officer Sam Clemens who confirmed 13 homicides is indeed the record, dating back to at least the early 1970s.

Morning showers will continue to move through southeast KELOLAND this morning. The best chance for the rain is setting up in northwest Iowa.
