SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — The South Dakota School of Mines has four finalists for president earlier this week.
The South Dakota Board of Regents (BOR) said in a release that the finalists are Dr. Angela Lueking, Todd Kenner, Dr. Mohamad Qatu and Dr. Brian Tande.
Lueking is the vice chancellor for research and dean of the graduate school at Montana Technological University. She has been with the university since 2021.
Her career also includes roles at Missouri University of Science and Technology and Pennsylvania State. She has a doctorate and master of science in environmental engineering from the University of Michigan.
Kenner is the chief executive officer of RE/SPEC based in Rapid City.
Kenner has been at the company since 2010 and had various private sector roles before that including as president of President of PBS&J Corporation. He is a graduate of the South Dakota School of Mines.
Qatu is dean of the Game Above college of engineering and technology at Eastern Michigan University.
