Sidney Rollings was booked into the Minnehaha County Jail on Friday and has a $1 million bond set.
Rollings is accused of killing Christopher McDaniel, 38, who was found bleeding from a gunshot on the curb near 11th Street and Sneve Avenue on the morning of Dec. 26. Both men are from Sioux Falls, police said.
The shooting was first reported at about 9 a.m. Thursday as “a man down.” When officers arrived they found a man with a serious gunshot wound. An ambulance was on the scene with officers when KELOLAND News arrived.
Court documents say Rollings told police he met McDaniel on a dating app three days earlier on Dec. 23, but phone messages show they started using the app on Dec. 22.
McDaniel went to Rollings’ home on Dec. 22 with “the intention of having intercourse and injecting methamphetamine,” court documents say.
