A short-term solution for working out

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — The holidays have come and gone, but many college students remain on break.

Another day of workouts is underway at the Sanford Fieldhouse, where some of the participants are college athletes home on semester break.

Loss of SDSU coach impacts transfers

“We were getting inquiries from athletes that didn’t have a home over the course of either a summer break or winter break, and our facility seems to be perfect for those athletes that have a short window, don’t necessarily want a long-term membership,” Sanford Sports Performance manager Jesse Haines said.

Jesse Haines manages Sanford Sports Performance, where they offer a 45-day membership to college athletes to train during the holidays.

“Division 1 athletes, there’s a lot of excitement when athletes like that come in the door, we’re happy to see it,” Jesse Haines said.

“Coming home from college, it’s hard to find a good area to get your workout in. Being a D1 athlete, you’ve got to find a good facility because my workouts are pretty hard,” Nebraska junior Meghan Walker said.
