SF business that pays their employees to volunteer

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — While the staff at A&B Business Solutions stay busy with their day to day duties, volunteering is something that is also close to their hearts. Because of this, they’ve created a program to encourage their employees to give back.

“Our vision is developing strong communities. Because of that, we’ve created a program called Bring It Home. What that does is that allows our employees to volunteer 40 hours in the community that we will pay them for,” A&B Business Solutions CFO, Kyle Lambert said.

It’s something many of the employees invest their time in.

“I’ve been here a little over ten years, and I have been partaking in the program the entire time,” A&B employee, Ed McKee said.

Unlike other businesses that may have a specific nonprofit of choice, the employees get to choose where and when they spend their time.

“One of the places I volunteer is through the Lutheran Social Services, through their mentoring program with a high school student in the Sioux Falls School District area,” A&B employee, Derek Colace said.
