The Society of St. Vincent de Paul , a non-profit organization that provides financial assistance, food, clothing, household goods and more to those in immediate crisis, has opened a second thrift store in western Sioux Falls.
The new retail thrift store, at 3000 S. Ellis Rd., opened lits 27,000-square-foot store last week, after breaking ground in October 2023 . The thrift store “provides room for the Society to process and warehouse donations under one roof,” and will include a drive-thru for donations, the press release states. It will also house a training center for Vincentian volunteers, according to a January 2024 article in the Bishop’s Bulletin Catholic Diocese of Sioux Falls .
The Society’s first thrift store opened in 1995 at 431 N. Cliff Ave. and will continue to operate as normal. It will celebrate its 30th year in business this spring, which will also be recognized at a later date.
