Weather pattern to change slowly

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Meteorologist Scot Mundt is following a pattern change, but it’s something that won’t start right away.

Aside from a scattered shower or two, mostly dry skies can be expected for the next several days, as our weather pattern will take its time to change.

This is a look at the upper-level winds and dew point temperatures. As we are stuck in northwest flow over the next several days, low-pressure systems will continue to move in from Canada. The first one moves through this weekend and the second one moves through next week.

After that, we slowly get rid of the northwest flow, which allows for dew point temperatures or moisture to slowly creep north.

Finally, toward the end of the month, a trough develops to our southwest, which may help bring in better chances for rain…
