FLANDREAU, S.D. (KELO) — The man charged in the 2024 death of a Moody County deputy was back in court Thursday afternoon.
The judge granted Joseph Hoek a third defense attorney and a mitigation specialist, who will gather information about the case.
“I had made arguments there, and that expert would be somewhat limited with respect to the state’s motion. The motions were granted, with respect to no motivated prosecution,” South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley said. “Expert reports will need to be placed in writing.”…
