Monday night’s heavy storms caused blackouts and storm cleanup throughout the region

SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — Storm cleanup is in high gear across the region today following Monday night’s heavy storms. There were several tornado and funnel cloud reports, hail and winds of more than 80-miles an hour. Thousands of Sioux Falls residents spent some time in the dark last night, as those storms knocked out power to about four thousand customers. The southwestern part of the city had the most outages, while some residents of Lincoln, Turner and Union Counties also lost power.

Sioux Falls residents are getting some help from the city in cleaning up from last night’s storm. The city has opened its branch and tree drop off sites at the Fairgrounds and the Household Hazardous Waste Facility on Chambers Street. Hours will run from 9am to 5pm Monday through Saturday, and…..
