Sioux Falls, SD Weather Alert: Wildfire Smoke Returns Monday Afternoon, Slight Visibility Issues Possible

Sioux Falls, SD – Monday will bring mostly sunny skies to much of eastern South Dakota, but Canadian wildfire smoke drifting into the region during the afternoon could dull the sunshine and slightly lower air quality. The haze may also reduce visibility in some neighborhoods, especially between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., creating minor challenges for outdoor activities.

According to the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls, most of the smoke will remain elevated, but sensitive groups should limit strenuous outdoor activity during peak hours. While the risk is low, those with respiratory concerns may want to keep windows closed and air purifiers running.
