PIERRE, S.D. (KELO) — The municipal government for the city of Garretson is accepting a financial punishment for failing to maintain some safety records for its natural-gas pipeline.
Garretson, a community of more than 1,200 in Minnehaha County, faces a civil penalty of as much as $5,000.
The proposed agreement calls for the city to pay $2,500 to the South Dakota Public Utilities Commission by mid-October.
