Sioux Falls I-29 Lane Adjustments For Fall Construction

Road construction season is winding down in South Dakota, but there are still a few remaining obstacles drivers will need to navigate in the weeks ahead.

The latest is along Interstate 29 in Sioux Falls.

What’s Changing?

Starting Friday (September 5), traffic control will be switched to allow motorists to utilize the newly constructed easternmost two lanes on the southbound bridges over 12th Street and the Ellis & Eastern Railroad.

5 Weeks

The South Dakota Department of Transportation says this configuration will be in place until October 10 to allow for work on the westernmost two lanes of southbound I-29 bridges over 12th Street and the Ellis & Eastern Railroad.

Project Timeline

Upon completion, traffic control will be removed and traffic will be restored to their respective lanes…
