South Dakota winters can be challenging, especially for the homeless population across the state. One local Sioux Falls woman is trying to make cold winter days easier for the homeless by giving them a special bag.

Savannah Walter from Sioux Falls is on a mission to help the homeless residents of the Sioux Empire right before the cold air hits. The plan is to distribute “Blessing Bags” to the homeless with essential supplies for winter, including snacks, bathroom supplies, and warm gear.
Savannah knows she has a big task ahead, and she’s looking for extra help through a GoFundMe page.
In her post on GoFundMe, Savannah explains she collected donations for Blessing Bags last year with the help of the community and local media. She’s hoping that support can continue for her collection this year.
