1 arrest in Thursday kidnapping of woman

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Officers responded to south Spring Avenue after a report that a man grabbed a woman and drove away in a silver van around 11 a.m. Thursday.

According to Sioux Falls Police Department Sgt. Cole German, police located a silver van that was reported in the kidnapping call the intersection of 11th Street and Prairie Avenue around 11:30 a.m.. The driver of the vehicle was not the suspect of the crime, but through questioning of the driver and other investigation, police were able to determine an area where the woman might be.

The woman, who police said is in her late 20s, was later located in the southwest side of the city around 7 p.m..

The woman had injuries, but did not require a hospital, according to police…
