Storm Center AM Update: Unsettled Pattern on the Way

SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO) — Showers and thunderstorms have been moving through central and western KELOLAND over the course of the night, with more chances for instability on the way later today. This time, it’ll be on both sides of the river.

Showers and storms will be in the cards for the Sunday outlook, though chances hold off a bit to the east and southeast…at least temporarily. Opportunities for showers and storms increase the later into the day we go, and the atmosphere will have some juice available for some storm development.

A Marginal Risk for severe weather is in place for central and eastern KELOLAND, with a Slight Risk area between Mobridge and Aberdeen. All forms of severe weather will be possible…including gusty winds, damaging hail, and a tornado or two. Please stay weather aware if you have any outdoor plans during the second half of the day.

Chances wane as we head beyond sunset and into the night, but we do still keep some instability in place to the east.

Southeastern KELOLAND gets a small break on Monday, while other areas of KELOLAND have another chance to see rain and maybe a storm or two as we go along. Showers linger into the day on Tuesday…
