LARCHWOOD, Iowa (KIWA) – A Minnesota man was arrested for several felony gambling charges connected to jackpots at the Grand Falls Casino in Northwest Iowa.
According to KIWA, a criminal complaint shows 49-year-old Julio Cerritos Mejia of Worthington, Minnesota, is accused of claiming multiple jackpots under another person’s name over the last nine years.
The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) says it all came to light in July 2025 when the person Cerritos Mejia was impersonating contacted the Larchwood casino. This person reported his identity was being used to collect jackpot winnings, and the IRS told this man, from Texas, he owed over $20,000 in back taxes from Grand Falls winnings in 2021…
