SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — It has been a hot day in KELOLAND and we are continuing to keep an eye on areas that could break or tie their record highs. As of 3 PM, portions of western South Dakota and Sioux Falls have broke their records. For areas like Rapid City, this will be their last day with the heat as we start to watch a cold front move in for tonight.
Breezier winds also returned today with gusts up to 30 MPH for many. Add low humidity on top of this and it creates the concern for wildfires. A Fire Weather Warning is going to remain in effect for a portion of western and central KELOLAND until this evening.
