MITCHELL, S.D. (KELO) — 21-year-old Grace Stroschein of Sioux Falls was thoroughly enjoying herself as a driver and positive energy delivery lady on The 437 Project’s journey across South Dakota at the end of September.

“I am just here living my life, doing what I can to make sure everyone else knows that they’re so loved because when I was going through my eating disorder and my depression for years and years I felt like there was no way that I would be able to come out of this, and so just being able to be here and be happy and be free from self-harm for almost two years and just, like, be alive and smiling and truly happy, it’s, it just feels like a blessing to me,” Stroschein said.
Driven to be a blessing for others, she freely shares intensely personal details.
“When I was 15, I was sexually assaulted by one of my good friends at the time,” Stroschein said. “And after that I developed the self-harming tendencies once again, and I attempted to take my own life in January of 2022. But luckily I was saved, and one of my teachers, actually, at the time saved my life. And so I’m lucky to be here.”…
