Day-care provider sentenced for endangerment

ROCK RAPIDS—A 30-year-old Inwood woman has been placed on probation for two years after pleading guilty to a charge of child endangerment stemming from an incident at her in-home day care three years ago.

The case against Hannah Louise Olson arose Dec. 5, 2022, when she was arrested and initially charged with two counts of child endangerment resulting in serious injury, a Class C felony, following two separate investigations of incidents at her in-home day care at 208 S. Maple St., according to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.

In a May 11, 2022, incident, a 2-year-old “suffered a partial thickness burn to multiple sites on his right hand after his hand entered a pot of water in the sink which had just been used to boil hot dogs,” according to documents filed in Lyon County District Court in Rock Rapids…
