LARCHWOOD—A 34-year-old Rock Rapids man was arrested about 12:40 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, near Larchwood on charges of first-offense operating while under the influence, first-offense possession of a controlled substance — marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The arrest of Keontae Maleek Richard Chavies stemmed from the stop of a 2014 Buick Verano for an equipment violation at the intersection of Highway 9 and Buchanan Avenue about a mile northwest of Larchwood, according to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.
