Hawarden man suffers serious leg injury from grain trailer accident

A Hawarden man was airlifted to a Sioux Falls hospital after suffering a serious leg injury from a grain trailer yesterday morning.

The incident occured at Premium Feed and Grain in Brunsville. 21-year-old Dylan Ver Hoeven of Hawarden was working next to the trailer, which was attached to a Freightliner semi-truck driven by 26-year-old Dillan Baartman of Le Mars. As the trailer was pulling away from the mill, a piece of Ver Hoeven’s clothes got caught in the trailer, and he was dragged several feet. Ver Hoeven was initally transported to Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars, before being airlifted to Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls…
