Local jeweler talks Louvre heist, security

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Almost a week after thieves took priceless jewels from the Louvre museum in Paris, France, one Sioux Falls jeweler shares his ideas on what happened to the gems.

Thieves stole crown jewels estimated to be worth more than $100 million, and is one of the highest profile thefts of the year, AP reported.

“There’s only two things they (the thieves) can do: they can break those pieces out and try to sell them individually, but the better chance is a private collector placed an order to have that stuff taken,” Thomas James said…
