DANR gives update on investigation into 2024 fish kill north of Corson, SD

CORSON, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – The Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources has given an update regarding the fish kill that happened in Split Rock Creek in 2024.

In August of 2024, a tanker of sugar water combined with microbes was released in an area that ran into Split Rock Creek.

According to the farmer, the sugar water is a byproduct of an Iowa ethanol plant intended to be sprayed on crops.
