Journey got their start in 1973 in San Francisco when guitarist Neal Schon and keyboardist Greg Rollie broke off from Santana to launch the new band.
They enjoyed limited success through their first three albums, but after adding lead singer Steve Perry in 1977, they put their next seven albums in the Top 20, including the chart-topping Escape album in 1981…
