Sioux Falls store offers deals amid SNAP uncertainty

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Local businesses are stepping up after the Department of Social Services (DSS) announced a pause in Supplemental Nutrition Program Assistance (SNAP) benefits after the renewal date for South Dakota.

“The South Dakota Department of Social Services has paused implementation of its plan to provide full benefits to SNAP recipients by November 10. The pause results from a United States Supreme Court’s ‘administrative stay’ of a lower court’s ruling that was issued late Friday evening,” a statement from DSS said Saturday.
