Sioux County sentencing; DOC inmate death; Warming up

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Here’s a look at this morning’s top stories for your KELOLAND On the Go.

According to the Sioux County Iowa attorney, Daniel Alvarado, 23, was charged back in July with third-degree sexual abuse and pleaded guilty Monday to assault with intent to commit sexual abuse, causing bodily injury and was sentenced to an indeterminate time in prison.

The DOC says Travis Long Fox, 33, was found unresponsive in his cell at the state penitentiary last Tuesday. He was taken to a hospital where he died Friday. The state’s top prosecutor, Marty Jackley, says Fox’s death is being investigated as a suspected overdose.
