Minnesota falls to San Francisco 77-65 in Sioux Falls

For the third time in four opportunities the Gophers went to Sioux Falls and dropped a non-conference game on a neutral court. Sioux Falls has not been kind to the Gophers and tonight their foul shooting, ball screen defense and the luck with injuries continues to lack kindness as well.

San Francisco built a two score lead early with baskets on four of their first five possessions and they never looked back. The Gophers tied the game at 52-52 but Minnesota was never able to earn a lead the entire game. What happened?

As we said, Robert Vaihola hyper-extended his knee in the Chicago State game and was forced to miss today’s contest. Nehemiah Turner was put in the starting line-up but he struggled greatly and by the time Minnesota could sub a player in, the Gophers were down two scores.
