One person died in a single vehicle crash early Saturday morning (Nov. 29, 2025, at 12:30am) one mile southeast of Hudson, SD.
Preliminary crash information indicates 18 year old Teague Jacob Rus from Rock Valley, IA, the driver of a 2011 Ford F-250, was traveling northbound on 488th Avenue near 294th Street pulling a male on a snowboard. The snowboarder fell and the truck stopped and began to back up. A 14 year old male from Hudson, SD, in the bed of the truck fell from the bed and was struck by the truck. The group drove the injured teen to the Haywarden Regional Hospital in Iowa where he died from his injuries. There were no other injuries.
