2 teens arrested Thursday for stealing Nebraska car

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Two teens have been taken to a holding facility following a stolen car Thursday morning.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook that just before 8:30 a.m. Thursday, they received a call from the South Dakota Highway Patrol about a stolen Ford Bronco that was traveling north on I-29 from Beresford.

A short time later, the Bronco was spotted near mile marker 68 near the Lennox and Parker exit. Due to traffic backup, the stolen car stopped in the middle of the lane and the juveniles took off on foot, running across all four lanes of traffic. The driver was taken into custody without incident, but the passenger attempted to flee before being taken into custody as well.

Both teens are 14-year-old boys from Sioux Falls. The car was recently stolen out of Omaha and the two juveniles were with another Harrisburg juvenile who was reported as a runaway Wednesday night…
