Sioux Falls Dining Update: Casa Del Rey Closed Until Further Notice

Sioux Falls has lost another one of its well-known restaurants, at least for now.

News broke on Monday, December 8, that Casa Del Rey has once again closed its doors. According to Dakota News Now, a sign on the front entrance of the Russell Avenue restaurant delivered the update: “Closed until further notice. Sorry for the inconvenience.”

For longtime fans, this announcement may feel like déjà vu. Casa Del Rey briefly shut down in the summer of 2024, leaving many loyal customers wondering if their favorite enchiladas and chimichangas were gone for good. However, hope was quickly restored when the Eining Family purchased the restaurant and reopened it in November 2024 after making a handful of updates to both the building and the menu.

The Eining Family is no stranger to the Sioux Falls dining scene. They also own and operate two other Sioux Falls favorites, the Original Pancake House and the ever-popular Josiah’s Coffeehouse, Cafe & Bakery.
