Sanford Health in Sioux Falls is set to launch South Dakota’s first and only dedicated pediatric emergency department in 2026, a milestone made possible by a “momentous” philanthropic gift and nearly $1.5 million raised at the 2025 Sanford Children’s Gala.
The new facility’s namesake derives from local philanthropists Dave H. and Christine Billion’s lead gift of $3 million to establish the new facility.
