SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — The lobby of the Bishop Dudley Hospitality House was cleaned up Thursday, but Wednesday, it was torn apart. A guest was upset and broke computer equipment, decorations and a weapons detection system.
“It’s really out of the ordinary for anything like that to ever happen here at Bishop Dudley House,” said executive director Madeline Shields. “Our guests are very kind. They are grateful for all of the services that they receive here. And so, this is really out of the normal.”

The most expensive piece of broken equipment was a $85,000 weapons detector. The machine was originally bought with grant money.
“It makes everyone feel safe when they walk through there,” said Shields. “And they know that there is nothing coming into the building that could harm anyone else. And so, that’s really the biggest issue, is trying to figure out what to do next.”…
