SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – The City of Sioux Falls is once again deploying sound cannons to scare away geese in an effort to keep the skies safe for aircraft.
Sioux Falls is a hotspot for geese during the winter because portions of the Big Sioux River remain open even with the colder temperatures. Access to nearby harvested crop fields also plays a factor.
The cannons are being used at the Sioux Empire Fairgrounds, Elmwood Golf Course, and the Household Hazardous Waste Facility…
