Sioux Falls School Board posts letter on state funding

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — The school board leading South Dakota’s largest school district has a clear request for South Dakota Gov. Larry Rhoden: a re-examination of how much money the district will receive.

Ahead of the legislative session, Rhoden has proposed no increases in state aid to K-12 education.

“I share the desire to cut property taxes,” Rhoden said in his Dec. 2 budget address. “But slashing health care, education and public safety is not the way to do it.”
