Jury finds Sioux Falls man not guilty in 2024 shooting death

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) -A jury has found a Sioux Falls man not guilty of second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a violent or drug related convicted felon.

Edward Brinkley was acquitted on both counts following a trial that concluded tonight.

In March of 2024, Brinkley was arrested following an incident at an apartment building on the corner of East 12th Street and 2nd Avenue where police found 28-year-old Richard Sowers had been shot multiple times in his torso. Sowers later died at the hospital…
