SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – Some big additions are opening in the new year on Sanford Health’s main Sioux Falls campus.
Sandwiched between the Sanford Children’s Hospital and Surgical Tower is now the Highpoint Hotel and the Orthopedic Hospital.

“The entire project has been a really exciting addition to campus. The Orthopedic Hospital allowed us to add 12 operating rooms to our fleet but we were also able to add two floors of a hotel on the top two levels, which is called the Highpoint Hotel,” Kris Denevan, VP of Operations for Facilities and Support Services, said. “56 rooms for anybody and everybody in the community but especially targeted toward our patients who may have to travel a distance or want to stay after a long day.”
The Orthopedic Hospital is a westward expansion of what’s already inside the Surgical Tower with those additional 12 operating rooms as well as 35 pre- and post-operation rooms. There are also more workstations and break areas for staff…
