Storm Center PM Update: Wind Beginning to Calm Down

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — It has been a very windy 24 hours in KELOLAND as an arctic front moved through. The highest gusts of the day have occurred in western South Dakota with downtown Rapid City recording a gust of 101 MPH just after 3 AM.

The High Wind Warning has expired West River and the alerts will continue to taper off this evening. Gusts from 45 to 50 MPH are still possible in Eastern KELOLAND and could create low visibility.

In northeastern KELOLAND, no travel is advised in Day County as of 3 PM because of blizzard conditions. The…..
