Iowa house fires; Christmas tree drop; Mild weekend

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Here’s a look at this morning’s top stories for your KELOLAND on the go.

Two house fires have occurred in LeMars, Iowa, this week, leaving families with damaged homes. The first fire took place on Christmas Eve. Fire crews were called to a home in the southern part of town a little before 8:30 p.m. The second fire occurred on Christmas Day. Fire Crews were called to the scene a little before 9 p.m. in the southern part of town.

2 house fires occur in LeMars, Iowa

In a news release from the City of Sioux Falls, the sites will be open from Friday, Dec. 26, to Sunday, Jan. 4. The sites will be available to Sioux Falls residents and those in Lake, Lincoln, McCook, Minnehaha and Turner counties. The sites will not be available to businesses, farms, nonprofits, churches, schools, or government buildings.

2 Christmas tree drop sites to open Dec. 26

This week, the Washington Pavilion is treating people to an adaptation of a longtime holiday classic. Performances of Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical began on Tuesday, and since then, it has drawn big crowds and set Pavilion records.
